2025
On November 5, the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee participated in an event "The Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Healthcare", organised by the TEGOS law firm. Gita Labanauskaitė, representative of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee, gave a presentation on the main ethical principles of AI application in healthcare and the impact of AI solutions on the patient-doctor relationship, and participated in the discussion on current practices in healthcare institutions and the need for risk management when implementing AI solutions.
On October 6, the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee participated in the first Lithuanian Biobank Forum. Gita Labanauskaitė, representative of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee, gave a presentation on "Current Bioethical Issues in Biobank Activities" and presented the main areas of biobank activities in which it is important to ensure the rights of participants as biobank activities develop. Asta Čekanauskaitė, Director of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee, participated in a panel discussion and discussed the importance of disseminating information about biobank activities and public trust. On September 30–October 1, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee and the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University organised a subregional seminar for the Baltic countries dedicated to the WHO tool "Benchmarking ethics oversight of health-related research with human participants," which brought together representatives of ethics committees responsible for research oversight in the three Baltic countries.

On April 16, the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee participated in a remote event "Ethics and Artificial Intelligence: What Issues Are Relevant to the European Innovation Council (EIC) Programs?", organised by the Lithuanian Science Council and EDIH4LT. The speakers shared their insights on ethical guidelines and discussed ethical aspects that are important to consider when preparing EIC applications, as well as the regulation of artificial intelligence. A representative of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee gave a presentation on "The importance of ethical assessment of European Horizon projects."
2024
- December 10, Meeting of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee and members of Regional biomedical research ethics committees.
- On May 29, specialists of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee participated in a meeting organised by Invest Lithuania with representatives of Dexcom. The report was delivered at the meeting, presenting the activities of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee and the procedure for authorisation of clinical trials with medical devices. Issues related to the conduct of clinical trials with medical devices in Lithuania were also discussed.
- On June 18, the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee held an informational seminar "Children's Participation in Drug Trials: Emerging Issues, Risk-Benefit Ratio, practices in Lithuania and other countries," with participation of members of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee's biomedical research expert group, specialists from the State Medicines Control Agency and the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee.

- October 26-27, International conference „Wellbeing, artificial intelligence and the ethical challenges“, organised by the Health Research and Innovation Science Center of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Klaipėda University, the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee, the Center for Values and Philosophy Research (USA) and Kyiv National Linguistic University (Ukraine).
- On May 19, the Lithuanian Association of Good Clinical and Regulatory Practice and the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee organised a conference "Current Issues in Clinical Research in Lithuania." A representative of the Lithuanian Bioethics Committee presented changes in the evaluation of clinical research in Lithuania and Europe.
